2013 Coats for Kids Fundraiser

CoatsIn addition to selling our “Care Enough to Wear Pink” shirts to raise money for breast cancer awareness, the OKC Firefighters Local 157 have a new project we would like your help to support!

The Christian Firefighters began the Oklahoma City Fire Department’s program, “Coats for Kids” in 1990. Since that time, Firefighters, IAFF Local 157, Local 157 Ladies Auxiliary, Board of Chief Officers and Oklahoma City Retired Firefighters Association have raised to-date approximately $115,344.26! This has resulted in placing approximately 1347 pairs of shoes and 3496 coats for kids in the Metro area.

Last year we partnered with Operation Warm (OW) and gave 2149 coats to needy children in 4 different schools. This is the first year that we have gone outside the fire department to partner with the our community in helping the children in our fire coverage area.

Our selected school this year is Greystone Upper Elementary School (2401 NW 115th Terr. Oklahoma City OK, 73120) which has 464 Students in 2nd – 6th grade. Your donation will help provide brand new, American-made coats to every child at Greystone.

Donations can be made at www.operationwarm.org/oklahomacity or checks can be made out to Operation Warm with OKC Fire Fighters on the memo line and mailed to Local 157, Coats for Kids, 157 NW5th Street, OKC, OK 73102.

We need donations no later than, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013.

Thank you in advance, OKC!
