Help Us Coat-A-Kid!
2017 OKC Firefighters Coat-A-Kid Campaign
Oklahoma City Firefighters and OKC Firefighters Local 157 are pleased to again be leading our annual campaign: Firefighters Coat-A-Kid. This local program targets impoverished children living in our own community, providing them with brand-new winter coats that help them brave
the cold and attend school regularly throughout the winter months. With your generous support, you will play a vital role to ensure that no child in our community is left out in the cold.
Focusing on children in their prime developmental stage when access to education and nourishment is crucial, our Coats for Kids serves elementary school children, ages 3-12. Children selected are living in families that struggle to meet the most basic needs. Typically, these families live at or below 150% of the prescribed federal poverty guideline and their children qualify to receive free or reduced price meals at school. Last year we were able to outfit more than 300 children at an Oklahoma City elementary school!
Just $20 will buy a brand-new coat for a child. Please, help change a life and donate. Donations can be made at https://www.okcps.org/Page/2940 or checks can be made out to OKC Firefighters and mailed to 157 NW 6th Street, Oklahoma City 73102. Or you can drop cash or check by that same location.
We’d love to provide additional information if it will help inform your decision. If we can answer any question about our program, please contact the Oklahoma City Firefighters Association at firstname.lastname@example.org, phone 405-232-9543. Please join in our mission to provide warmth and hope to the wonderful children of our neighborhoods.
